selling album of all time is "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" by
the Eagles, released in 1976. Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is a
close second.
Until some
jive turkey named Garth Brooks came along the best selling live album
of all-time was Peter Frampton's "Frampton Comes Alive" released
in 1976. The album now currently sits at number four all-time
behind Brooks, Bruce Springsteen, and the Eagles.
The so-called Disco Demolition Night
staged in Chicago, Illinois, on July 12, 1979, involved thousands
of baseball fans bringing along their unwanted disco records and
burning them. The rally caused such a commotion that the game was
cancelled when enraged crowds began to tear up the stadium.
